As you can imagine, we meet with clients all the time. Big companies, small businesses and everything in between. Our advice for all of them, regardless of size, is to generate content. Lots and lots of content.
One of the easiest ways to share generated content is through a blog. Blogs have only been around for 20 years or so, but have become a powerful force in digital media.
1. Provide a platform to quickly and easily share content
2. Allow brands to show a their personality
3. Add piles of searchable content to websites
4. Keep websites updated which makes Google happy
5. Show customers the ‘man behind the curtain
If you look at our blog history, you will notice a few sporadic posts. We know we need to blog, we just haven’t put an action plan in place to make sure we blog.
Well, today we start to take our own advice.
We recently sat down and put together an editorial calendar for the whole year (yes, the WHOLE year) with topics we will be writing about, dates of publishing and authorship. Every member of our team will be contributing to the blog in some way. You will see design tips, marketing ideas, examples of marketing done well or done poorly, project management ideas, data digging thoughts and much more.
By creating content we’ll let you in on some of our secrets and hopefully allow you to get to know us better. But more than that, we will be putting content out into the world wide web and in view of Google’s spiders.
